Turning Adversity Into Inspiration

My name is Shelly, and I am the owner of Nonna’s Nifty Nik Naks LLC.

My tumbler-making journey started out a little differently than most. In February 2020, my dad was diagnosed with congenital heart failure, and we did not know how long we would have with him. I became his caretaker, as it was too much for my mother, and I wanted her to spend as much quality time with him as possible. I worked full time, and with the added responsibilities of taking care of my dad and juggling life and my own medical issues, it all seemed a bit much, and anxiety kept getting in the way. So, my doctor recommended I find a hobby to help - so I did.

I found a hobby that I not only loved, but that has somewhat become a passion for me. I started making tumblers in October 2020 after watching what felt like hundreds of YouTube videos. I started making them for myself, friends, and family but decided to make a go of it and start my own small business.

I have four granddaughters who call me Nonna, and that’s where my business name came from. As for my logo - well, my love of daisies and pigs just brought it all together. I have enjoyed making tumblers, pens, keychains, and badge reels, and I enjoy trying new things.
